a recipe: avocado salad

you guys can always count on me to do things the jamie dawn way, which essentially just means a way that makes no sense at all, like posting a healthy and delicious recipe right after you put your swimsuits away for the winter season. ha! all the apologies. bookmark this post so you can come back to it 6 months from now.

a few of my best girlfriends have bachelorette parties coming up in a few months including a trip down to new orleans in march (!) so i've been trying my best to try and drop a pound or two. we all know that my favorite food group is pizza and i'm either hungry or eating always so this has been a pretty difficult challenge. and usually i would figure no one diets in november or december because it's the holidays. and my birthday is in january so i'll be "treating myself" all month… and then in february all the valentines day candy will be screaming for me to buy it  so i basically will have two weeks in march to get sexy. but! pictures last forever and when most of your friends are practically fitness models you gotta tighten your ass up! and since i hate working out like it's the plague, healthier eating is the better alternative for me. so here's a yummy healthy snack/dip/dinner recipe for anybody out there that wants a guilt free meal that's cheap, easy and delicious!

Avocado Salad
//
3-4 avocados, diced
1 container of grape tomatoes, diced
1/4 red onion, diced
1 container fat free Feta cheese
1 bunch of cilantro, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced 
1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1-2 tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar 
crushed red pepper to taste 
optional: add one cucumber, peeled and chopped

*my aunt brought this to our family halloween party last week and i just sort of grabbed a chair and sat next to the bowl the entire night. this stuff is soooo good. she served it with chips, but it's pretty amazing on its own, too. i'm thinking this summer it would be great around the pool? we shall see.
