A DIY: HALF MOON TABLE

Posted on: 2.21.2012

my aunt had given us a side table when she found out we got a new apartment. i loved the shape, the height and sturdyness of it. totally solid piece of furniture... but not my favorite color. i love green when decorating and knew i wanted to do a bright fun coat. now, in life, there are always tough decisions to make. what career will you choose? what city will you live in?  and what shade of green do you paint your new table... the bright green? the super bright green? the bright bright green? i went with the darker of the three and couldn't have been more pleased with the color as it dried. it's still a little tacky (it's still drying) but i'm excited to put it back in its place covered in our knick-knacks.
note to self: projects like this are better left for me while jon just enjoys the view from the couch.

some little kitty,  who shall remain nameless, thought it would be fun to track through my painting area and run across the hardwood. thanks, _____!!
i gotta say, i'm obsessed with many features that our apartment came with. and when we first moved in, this utility sink in the middle of our hallway wasn't really one of them. i thought it was a complete eye sore, but the more times that i walk by it, the less times i notice it.  when our landlord gutted his apartments he kept the art students in the area in his mind. the sink was so students could clean their brushes with ease in the livingroom. genius idea i suppose and today, i fell in love with this amenty just like artsy kids before me!

and voila!

my happy little table back in its nook of the living room
