Last night, getting sick hit me like a bag of bricks and it's driving me absolutely crazy! I hate being sick. I mean I hate it almost to the point of tears. My eyes are hot, my throat is raw and coughing is inevitable. So it's been nothing but chicken noodle soup and netflix to pass the agonizing time. Thank goodness my illness held off until yesterday evening. I was so excited that I got to go to my grandma's house and celebrate a baby shower for my oldest cousin, Brandy.
This will be the first of the great grand children in the family and I'm so excited for him to get here! It was amazing just to see my family as well. We aren't extremely close and it's pretty common to go months without seeing each other. My cousin and I are only about 10 months apart and it's so crazy to think that she's getting ready to be a mom. I'm nowhere near ready for anything like that in my life but I guess it's one of those life chapters that no one is ever really ready for; it just happens and you get ready as you go. My mom was a lot like my cousin and got pregnant with me at 20. She had about 9 months to grow up and prepare herself for the lifelong job of motherhood. So proud of my cousin and all the greatness she will bring to Little Beckett's (that's his name, so far) life.
